Samosas

15 ml cooking oil
1 medium onion, chopped
5 ml ginger
5 ml garlic powder
5 ml curry powder
500 g ground beef
1 tomato, chopped
175 ml cooked peas
1 pkg egg roll rapper
fat for deep frying

Method

1. Put oil and onion into frying pan. Fry until browned. Add ginger, garlic powder and curry powder. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes. Add ground beef and tomato and scramble-fry. Stir in peas. Allow to cool.

2. Cut egg roll wrappers diagonally into 4 triangles. Put about 15 ml, or less, of mixture in center. Moisten edges with water. Fold over and press to seal. Fry in 375 degrees F fat until golden brown, turning once. To reheat, place on baking sheet in 350 degrees F oven for 10-15 minutes or until hot. Makes about 5 dozen.
